The identity of the victim of a fatal traffic collision last Friday has been reported.
Aaron Crandall, a 21-year-old male, appears to have died from blunt force injuries to his head and extremities, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office reports.
A witness reported a collision around 2:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Carr Road. The witness observed a vehicle, which had been traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, leave the roadway and collide with a utility pole.
Crandall was the only person reported in the vehicle. He died at the scene. On Friday,Renton police reported that speed appeared to be have been a factor in the accident. They were unsure if drugs or alcohol were also factors. If conducted, any toxicology reports would not be available for at least eight to 10 weeks.
The accident closed South Carr Road near Mill Avenue Friday morning, while Puget Sound Energy responded to assist with concerns related to the utility pole.
