Tim Troxel, Renton’s deputy police chief, was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday, pending an investigation by an outside investigator of alleged violation of city policies.
“We are unable to provide any additional details at this time to preserve the integrity of the investigation and to ensure an unbiased outcome,” said Police Chief Kevin Milosevich in announcing the Troxel’s leave.
Milosevich said he will assume the duties and responsibilities of the deputy chief.
“Once the investigation is complete we will share additional details and bring you updates on our findings and the actions we take,” he said in a statement.
Troxel, who has worked for the Renton Police Department since 1984, was notified of the action Thursday by Milosevich, who had discussed the matter with Mayor Denis Law.
The department’s command staff was then notified of Milosevich’s action.
City spokeswoman Preeti Shridhar said the current investigation is unrelated to the personnel action taken against Troxel last summer and is unrelated to the controversy over the controversial Mr. Fuddlesticks videos about the Police Department, also from last year.
