Lindbergh girls soccer coach Kirk Tavener has resigned his position to take the same job at Interlake High School.
The Lindbergh girls soccer team finished 11-5-1 with a state berth last season. Lindbergh fell to Sumner 2-0 in the first round of the state tournament. After trailing Olympic 2-0, the Eagles advanced to state with a dramatic win in the district playoffs.
Lindbergh returns first team all-league defender Kimberly Girmus, midfielder Whitney Hilde and forward Jordyn McLuen next season. The Eagles also have second team all-league players Audrey Cunningham and Kayse Angel returning.
Interlake went 10-7-2 last year and advanced to the second round of the state tournament before falling to Archbishop Murphy. The Saints play in the KingCo 3A/2A.
Tavener will remain the boys soccer coach at Lindbergh.
