Norma Cugini, known for her charity endeavors in Renton and for her involvement in numerous community organizations, is the 2008 Citizen of the Year.
Also announced Tuesday are the two 2008 Outstanding Citizens, Bob Bridge, owner of Bob Bridge Toyota Scion, and Becky Nickels, who worked for the Renton School District for 21 years and has been involved in numerous community projects.
The three will be honored at the annual Citizen of the Year Banquet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Renton Technical College.
“It is our privilege to recognize Norma Cugini as the 2008 Citizen of the Year and Bob Bridge and Becky Nickels as Outstanding Citizens,” said Mayor Denis Law.
“I am honored to give the true heroes of our city the recognition they deserve and to thank them for their selfless good work in the community. Renton is truly grateful for their unfailing commitment to make this city a better place for everyone.”
