The Hazen boys basketball team controlled the pace for much of the game and a late push by Lindbergh came up short, as the Highlanders won 70-62 Tuesday night.
Hazen (11-3 overall, 8-1 Seamount) stays in first place in the Seamount league while Lindbergh (4-7, 4-5) is still in fifth.
The Eagles trailed by 18 heading into the fourth quarter before making a push and outscoring Hazen 26-16 in the final period. Lindbergh got as close as seven (64-57) before Hazen pulled away again.
Lindbergh’s Jimmy Keum led all scorers with 32 points. Dwayne Brown added 11. Bruce Jones scored nine, but left in the third quarter with a back injury after falling hard on the floor.
The Highlanders were balanced on offense, with five players in double digits. R.J. Magar and De’Corrius Sampson each scored 13. Brandty Graybeal had 12. Frankie Johnson and Dawit Kasa each had 11.
