The Seattle Foundation will support Talbot Hill Elementary School’s MicroSociety program with its GiveBig, one-day charitable online giving event today (Wednesday).

The idea of the campaign is to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits with a mission to make the region a healthier, more vital place to live.

Talbot Hill’s MicroSociety teaches students about the world with student-run businesses and services, in which they practice in “real-life” jobs and responsibilities. Donations from the GiveBig campaign will go to support field trips, student materials, program enhancing staff hours and other resources need for the MicroSociety.

The community is being asked to donate as little as $5 or up to $100 or more to the campaign. Every dollar is being matched by the Seattle Foundation’s sponsors and partners to double the support to the Talbot Hill program.

Contributors are being directed to the school’s web site, which has a link to the GiveBig donation page. Donations for this effort are being accept until 11:59 p.m., Wednesday night.
