It’s “Island Day’ at the Renton Farmers Market

Free dance and mini-ballet lessons for kids and entertainment from the Pacific Island Band this afternoon.

Today is ‘Island Day’ at the Renton Farmers Market, opening at 3 p.m. at the Piazza, downtown.

Entertainment begins at 3:15 p.m. with dance and mini-ballet lessons for kids courtesy of Evergreen City Ballet through 3:45.

At 5:30, the Pacific Island Band will take the stage for an hour of lively, tropical tunes.

The food demo at 4 p.m., hosted by Food $ense, will be on how to make Stone Fruit Salsa.

Also, don’t miss the Kid’s Patch with activities for the little ones across the street at Market West. And while you are there, play with Chess 4 Life on their extra-large outdoor chess set.

And, of course, the WSU Master Gardeners are on hand each week to answer all of your gardening and planting questions from 3 to 6 p.m. and be sure to visit the Renton Public Health Center in our Community Booth this week.
