Hazen topped Highline 4-0 in the Seamount opener Tuesday night.
“4-0 makes it sound easy,” said Hazen Coach Ken Matthews. “After playing Highline for four seasons now, they never make it easy for anyone.”
The Highlanders (2-1-1 overall, 1-0 Seamount) got goal from Dee Dee Green, Brianne Sherin, Melissa Carney and Lauren Goss. Cameron Devereux had the shutout. Carney, Chelsea Delgado and Erin Zetterberg had assists.
Matthews cited his defense for great play. “The teams in Seamount have only recorded three shutouts this year and we have two of them. The old saying is defense wins championships – let’s hope that’s true,” ended Matthews.
