Renton woman missing after walking away from apartment March 16

Maria “Imelda” Villanueva, 49, walked out of the apartment she shares with family at Wasatch Hills Apartments, 510 Stevens Ave. S.W., between 7:30 and 10 p.m. the evening of Saturday, March 16, and has not been seen or heard from since, according to Renton police.

The Renton Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate a missing Renton woman.

Maria “Imelda” Villanueva, 49, walked out of the apartment she shares with family at Wasatch Hills Apartments, 510 Stevens Ave. S.W., between 7:30 and 10 p.m. the evening of Saturday, March 16, and has not been seen or heard from since, according to Renton police.

Villanueva suffers from depression and is distraught over the recent death of a close relative, according to police, and she has not been taking her medications prescribed for depression and other mental-health issues.

She is described as an Asian female, 5-foot-4, with a medium to heavy build. She has long brown-grey hair and brown eyes and may be wearing brown boots.  She likes to walk around downtown Seattle and is familiar with the Metro bus system, according to police, but she has no history of walking away from home.

Anyone who has seen Villanueva or has information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500 and refer to case 13-2858.
