The City of Renton and King County are hosting an informational open house, Wednesday, Sept. 12, about the issue of annexing West Hill to Renton.
The annexation is on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
The open house is 6-8 p.m. at Dimmitt Middle School, 12320 80th Ave. S., on West Hill.
Community members, county and Renton representatives and other service providers will offer information and answer questions.
West Hill includes Skyway, Lakeridge, Bryn Mawr, Skycrest and other neighborhoods between Renton and Seattle.
King County currently provides services to that unincorporated area, although it’s part of the Renton School District.
If the area annexes – and after the City of Renton decides to accept or reject the annexation – the city would provide police and fire services, parks and recreation, street maintenance and land use and planning.
Boundaries for the school district and water and sewer districts wouldn’t change and Metro Transit would still serve the area.
