Liberty shuts out LW; Hazen pads lead in Seamount | Baseball

The Liberty baseball team shut out Lake Washington 4-0 Saturday.

The Patriots (3-4 overall, 1-2 KingCo 3A/2A) got a complete game from Izak Styskal on the mound. Styskal gave up five hits and one walk while striking out two batters.

Scott Zerda went 1-3 with a run and an RBI. Mitch Askins and Benjamin Wessel each scored a run.

 

Hazen 12, Tyee 1

The Hazen baseball team stayed on top of the Seamount League with a 12-1 win against Tyee Friday.

The Highlanders (7-1 overall, 7-0 Seamount) are now 2.5 games ahead of Kennedy Catholic for the league lead.

Hazen led 2-1 after the first inning and 4-1 after three innings. The Highlanders scored eight runs in the fifth to blow the game open.

Jeff Beckman went 1-2 with a three-RBI double. Jake Kolterman went 2-3 with an RBI. Jimmy Schmidt went 2-4 with three RBIs.

 

Kennedy Catholic 10, Renton 3

The Renton baseball team fell to Kennedy Catholic 10-3 Friday.

The Indians (1-6, 1-5) scored three runs in the final two innings, but it was too little, too late.

Kevin Penaloza went 2-4 with two RBIs for Renton.
