Football: Hazen produces comeback win, now tied for second; Renton moves past Tyee easily

Hazen fell behind early, but bounced back to beat Mount Rainier 28-20 Friday night.

The Highlanders (5-3 overall, 5-1 Seamount) moved into a tie with Kennedy Catholic for second in the Seamount with the win. Hazen plays at home against Kennedy this Thursday.

Cameron Harris caught a 44-yard pass for a touchdown from Caleb Saulo to get the Rams on the board. Nuu Vaifale then scored on a one-yard rush to put Mount Rainier up 14-0 in the first quarter.

Anthony Pena scored on a three-yard rush to bring Hazen closer before the half. The Highlanders trailed 20-7.

Hazen’s James Holland broke loose for a 79-yard rush to get his team going in the second half. Travis Johnson then found D.J. Perry for two touchdowns to give Hazen the final, 28-20 lead.

Renton 41, Tyee 0

Renton dominated Tyee 41-0 Friday night.

The Indians (4-3, 3-3) are now half a game behind Mount Rainier for fourth place in the Seamount.
