Following an opening round loss, the Lindbergh girls basketball team were able to pull out a victory Friday against Foster to move to keep their season alive.

The Eagles sub-district tournament got off to a rocky start Thursday with a 60-29 beating at the hands of the White River Hornets, but Lindbergh girls found their feet before Friday’s matchup.

The two teams battled their way though first half with the Eagle staking a slight 24-20 lead into halftime on the strength of a 14-10 second quarter.

It would prove to be enough as the two evenly matched teams fought to a 17-17 stalemate in the second half to give the win to Lindbergh.

Sarah Batschi and Connie Tua each scored 10 points to lead the Eagles.

The win gave Lindbergh a sixth-place finish and earned a No. 11 seed and a chance to play in the district tournament.

The Eagles will play Bremerton at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Foss High School in Tacoma. A win will set up a rematch on Thursday with No. 3 seeded White River. A loss means the season is over for the girls.
