A shooting that left two teens wounded in Skyway Tuesday afternoon was ruled accidental.
Several people were in a house when a single bullet struck a 17-year-old boy in the hand and an 18-year-old girl in the leg, said King County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart.
The two were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Calvin Beringer at the scene.
The person who had the gun fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
As of Wednesday morning, the gun had not been found.
Several people were in the house when the incident occurred, but no one seemed to know the name of the person with the weapon, Urquhart said.
The investigating officers also had a difficult time figuring out what happened, because of how much witness stories varied, Beringer said.
The boy who was injured lived at the house and the girl was visiting.
Emergency responders received a call at about 3:15 p.m., Aug. 3, saying there was a shooting on the 12000 block of 56th Place South.
About 20 officers from the Sheriff’s office and City of Renton Police were at the scene. A couch pillow was taken as evidence.
