The Lindbergh Eagles on Friday dropped their first game of the season, losing 50-14 at Franklin Pierce.
The Cardinals got it started early, reportedly scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter for a 13-0 lead.
But early in the second, Lindbergh responded, first with a 3-yard touchdown run from Johsiah Serquinia and then on a 45-yard pass-and-run from Sam Nehren to Anthony Walker to give the Eagles a 14-13 lead.
But from that point on, it was all Franklin Pierce who found their way to the endzone three more times before halftime, first on a 33-yard run and then on 54-yard and 7-yard pass plays that gave Franklin Pierce a 33-14 lead at the half.
IN the third quarter, the Cardinals continues to run away with the game, first o a 58-yard touchdown run and then on a 29-yard run for paydirt. a 30-yard field goal put Franklin Pierce up 50-14 as the fourth quarter began and the Cardinals hung on for a victory by the same margin.
Lindbergh is now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference. They host Fife at 7 p.m. Friday at Renton Memorial Stadium.
