Liberty 27, Blaine 24

The undefeated Liberty Patriots football team won the 2A District 1/2 title this past Friday with a 27-24 victory over the Blaine Borderites.

With the win, Liberty moves to 9-0 on the year and earns the top seed from the district. They will take on the Steilacoom Sentinels this weekend at the Tacoma Dome. The date and time has not yet been announced.

Steilacoom is 8-2 overall and advanced to the state tournament by beating the Olympic Trojans 29-14.

River Ridge 59, Lindbergh 13

The Lindbergh football season came to end this year in almost exactly the same way as last year, with a first-round playoff loss to the River Ridge Hawks, who topped the Eagles 59-13 on Friday.

Last year, Lindbergh fell to the Hawks 55-27 in the first round.

The Eagles finish the season at 5-5 overall and 4-3 in their first year in the South Puget Sound League.
