The second graders in the Sierra Heights Elementary class taught during this school year by Kristen Brenneman, at right, pose in front of “Beauty is…” the mural mosaic they created. For each tile, each of Brenneman’s students created a picture of what he or she thinks is beautiful in the world. The students received help from local artist Doug Kyes. Brenneman’s husband Scott mounted the tiles on a frame he built. The project was funded by an $800 grant from the Renton Circle of Giving Campaign. The students in Brenneman’s class this year were: Bryan Ayala, Maxwell Cantu, Vincent Chen, Elani Christenson-Leonard, Karen Garcia, Collin Herrman, Rachelle Huenefeld, Kobe Mejia, Eddie Mwale, Ethan Nelsen, Jason Nguyen, Benicio Olebar, Kale Soares, Sarah Stewart, Alejandro Suazo, Marcos Torres-Cortez, Reagan Vu, Eli-sha Stroy and Haley Sacha.
