Harvey T. Pedeferri, 80, an 18 year Sun Land Estates resident, and former longtime Renton resident, passed away at Seniors Haven Adult Home in Wenatchee on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born on July 7, 1932 at Renton, Washington to the late Joseph and Gunvor (Andersen) Pedeferri. He was raised in Renton and attended elementary through high school in the Issaquah School District. Following his graduation from high school, he went to work at PACCAR, (Pacific Car and Foundry), in Renton. He entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He served on the front lines and received a Bronze Star Medal. He received his honorable discharge in July of 1954 and returned to Renton and his job at Paccar. He remained working at Paccar and later became a Foreman.

He met and was married to Julie Mae Brown, on April 19, 1986. They continued to make their home in Renton. He retired in 1994 and they built their home at Sun Land Estates that same year. They also began wintering at Yuma, Arizona. They moved to Wenatchee two years ago.

He was a longtime member of the Boilermakers Union, a lifetime member of the Renton VFW, a member of the American Legion of Sedro Wooly and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Quincy.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, travelling and the warm winters spent in Yuma Arizona. He was a very good dancer.

He is survived by his wife, Julie M. Pedeferri, Wenatchee; two sons, Lonnie (Jody Petersen) Pedeferri, Roslyn, WA and Randy (Kathy) Pedeferri, Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Vicki Pedeferri, Phoenix, AZ; two step-daughters, Jamie Sapport , Denver, CO and Delane Brown, Kittitas, WA; three brothers, Henry Pedeferri, Olympia, WA, John (Peggy) Pedeferri, Redmond, WA and Walt (Margaret) Pedeferri, Duvall, WA; one sister, Harriett (Roy) Tongue, Tacoma, WA; numerous grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Nichole Marie Macalaney.

A service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial donations in his name to the American Cancer Society.
