Lindbergh tops Renton, Liberty stays with league leaders, Hazen falls to Kennedy | Girls basketball

Emily Graver and Gabrielle Redwine combined for 45 points as the Lindbergh girls basketball team beat Renton 61-48 Friday.

The Eagles (5-7 overall, 3-5 Seamount) moved into a tie for fifth with the Indians (4-8, 3-5) with the win.

Lindbergh built a 13-point lead at the half and powered through a four-point third quarter for the win.

Graver scored 23 on 10-of-12 shooting. She picked up 13 rebounds, seven steals and six assists. Redwine scored 22 points.

Tia Bryant led Renton with 18 points. Taylor Farris scored 10. Farris also collected 12 rebounds, five blocks and seven steals.

Kennedy Catholic 64, Hazen 37

Hazen couldn’t keep up with league-leading Kennedy Catholic and lost 64-37 Friday.

The Highlanders (8-4, 5-3) trailed by 12 after the first quarter, 18 after the half and 27 after three quarters.

Airashay Rogers led Hazen with 20 points.

Liberty 71, Sammamish 33

Liberty built an early lead against Sammamish and never looked back on the way to a 71-33 win.

The Patriots (10-4, 6-2 2A/3A KingCo) are tied with Mount Si and Lake Washington for second place in the KingCo, two games behind Juanita.

Danni Sjolander went for 25 points, nine rebounds and five steals for Liberty. Aspen Winegar scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Margan Safley scored 10 points and Megan Tsutakawa scored nine.
