Doris Grove-Scaletti
Doris Grove-Scaletti was born August 7, 1913 and died February 2, 2012 of natural causes at Wesley Homes where she has been nurtured for the last several years.She packed a lot of living into her 98 1/2 years, and was an extremely proud member of the Renton Eagles Aerie for over 50 years, as well as a Past Madam President. She loved to dance, and get together with friends, and her brothers and sisters of the Eagles. She dearly loved bowling, and was able to do that well into her 80s. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loyal O. Grove; daughter, Joyce Elaine Wilson; and grandson Todd Allan Metli. She is survived by her son, Roger Grove of Arizona; 7 grandchildren, Rebel Tavarez and Misty (Josh) Kean of Renton, WA, Bonnie (Clint) Brady of Issaquah, WA, Terri Dawn (John) Tippet of Groton, Connecticut, Tricia (Matt) Johnson of Ravensdale, WA, Chris Grove of Tacoma, WA, and Elizabeth (Grant) Lanning of Bellevue, WA; along with great grandchildren, (Cameron Kean, Nikki Tavarez, Carly and Callen Brady, Zachary, Colton, Grace, and Spencer Lanning, Summerlee Bishop, and Shyla Jones), and several great-great-grandchildren.A Celebration of Life will be held at the Renton Eagles Club Aerie 1722 at 4pm on Saturday, February 18. Please join us in remembering all of the things we loved about Grandma Doris, and share your memories of her if you like. It will be a time to gather together and have a little food and drink in her honor. This is exactly as she wanted it…good friends, good memories, good times.
