John W. “Bill” Bartroff

John William “Bill” Bartroff died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Mason General Hospital in Shelton, WA at the age of 73 years. He was born on August 18, 1935 in Spokane, WA to Ray and Kathryn (Schrock) Bartroff. Bill attended St. Augustine Grade School, Gonzaga High School graduating in 1953, Eastern Washington College and served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1956. He worked for The Boeing Company from 1957 until 1992, moving to Shelton the same year. On November 16, 1963 he married Ethel Connie Chee in Vancouver, British Columbia.Bill is survived by his wife Connie Bartroff of the family home, son; Ray Bartroff and wife Tracy DuChene of Shelton, WA, daughter; Shari Pederson and husband Curt Pederson of Issaquah, WA, grandchildren; Joshua DuChene, Braden Pederson, Conner Pederson, Andrew Pederson, Tawney Hobbs, Chelsea DuChene, Brenna Pederson and his sister; Kay Yanak of West Seattle, WA.A memorial service will be held at Hope Chapel, 421 West “E” St., Shelton, WA on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11:00 am with a rosary service held at just prior at 10:15 am. A reception will be held at St. Edward’s Catholic Church Hall, 601 West “C” St., Shelton, WA after the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be sent to Children’s Hospital, PO Box 50020, Mail Stop S200, Seattle, WA 98145.
