Ann Angelina Carter

Ann Angelina (Usibelli) Carter

Ann Carter passed away peacefully on January 31, 2014. She was able to live independently up until December 20th on Renton Hill – the same neighborhood where she was born and lived almost her entire life. Ann is survived by her two children, Michael Maurer of Renton, WA and Michelle Ward of Juneau, AK; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 2 expected early April.

Ann was the youngest of 7 siblings and the last surviving member of her family who immigrated to the United States from Northern Italy. Passionate about traveling, she was fortunate to have been able to see most of this world. An avid gardener and animal lover, Ann had a zest for life and being active. She could often be seen working diligently in her yard with a faithful, furry companion at her side. She was proud to have been recognized by the Seattle Garden Club for her flower creativity. Known by her friends to be the best berry pie baker in Renton, she would often say “I don’t like to cook but I LOVE to bake!”

In great spirits, she celebrated her 100th Birthday last November in her home with family and friends. Grave Side Service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. She will be buried next to her husband of nearly 60 years, Ralph Carter. In lieu of flowers, her wish was for donations to be made in her name to the Bellevue Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98005.
