William Donald Pressly
William Donald Pressly, 83, passed away on November 24, 2011, his favorite holiday, surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1928, to Josh and Lillian Pressly.He lived in Renton for 45 years retiring from Boeing Co. He was active in many activities and organizations. He was a member of Masonry for over 50 years and a Past Master and life member of St Andrews Lodge in Renton. He was in Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, Lions, Eagles, an avid bowler and dart thrower. He loved to hunt and fish, and commercial fished out of Westport for many years. In his younger years he was a golden glove boxer, played football for Texas Tech and was the Northern California State Champion Skin Diver. He also owned and operated the Gulf and Exxon Gas stations in the Renton Highlands for many years.He is preceded in death by his mother and father, first wife Marjorie, two brothers Wayne and Jimmie, and a step-grandson Tony Ackerson. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son William “Butch” Jr., daughter Elizabeth Gossett (Mike), son Ed, and step daughter Arlene George (Rush). He has 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and his brother Jullian “Snooky”, and sister Martha Wilson both of Texas.He fought a gallant fight against Multiple Melanoma and kidney failure just as vigorously as he lived his life, he only knew fast forward.Please join his family at a Celebration of his life to be held at the Renton VFW on Saturday, December 10, 11am-4pm. Interment will be a private family affair on December 12.
