A veteran officer of the Renton Police Department was sore, but with no significant injuries or broken bones after his police motorcycle and a sedan collided Friday.
The officer, Randy Body, has been with Renton Police 19 years. He called for assistance after the accident at 12:40 p.m. at the corner of Southwest Seventh Street and Lind Avenue Southwest.
When the call came, officers “started flooding in,” according to Renton Police Commander Katie McClincy.
The officer was eastbound on Southwest Seventh when the collision occurred with the westbound sedan that was turning left onto Lind Avenue, according to McClincy.
Although McClincy said Body was not walking after the accident, Renton Police spokesperson Penny Bartley said Wednesday “he will be just fine.”
He was taken to Valley Medical by a Medic 1 unit.
The investigation was continuing Friday afternoon.
The accident blocked off a several-block stretch of Southwest Seventh Street.
