With Martin Luther King Jr. Day just around the corner, here’s what is going on in the city:

  • City offices and all Renton School District schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16 in comemoration of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Emergency Feeding Program is having a Martin Luther King Day celebration on Sunday, Jan. 15. The event is from 3-5 p.m. at 851 Houser Way North. For more information, contact James Kelly at 206-326-0300.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Baptist Church is hosting a celebration with guest speaker Nathaniel Miles, vice president for Strategic Initiatives for Eli Lilly and Company on Sunday, Jan. 15. The event starts 11 a.m. at 4519 NE 10th St.
