Travel advisory: Passes could be messy this weekend

Forecasters are predicting more than a foot of snow to fall along the west slopes of the North Central Cascades including Snoqualmie, Chinook, White and Stevens passes and the North Cascades Highway by Sunday.

Although it feels like spring in lower elevations, it will definitely feel like winter this weekend along several mountain passes.

If drivers plan to travel over the mountains this weekend, they are encouraged to know before they go by:

• Preparing for winter driving.

• Checking Travel Alerts for region-wide updates.
