RENTON INDIANS
The weather held up enough for the Renton Indians to host the Steilacoom Sentinels Thursday for the first league game of the season.
Both baseball and fastpitch lost.
Baseball was shut out 10-0. And fastpitch lost 13-3.
This was the baseball team’s fist loss of the season. Another league matchup Friday against River Ridge added another loss for the Indians baseball team.
Two games in and Renton is 0-2 in both league and overall. The loss to Steilacoom for the Indians fastpitch team was the second loss of the season.
The girls lost March 20 to Lindbergh by a score of 31-1.
Next up for the boys is a home game against Tyee. The first pitch is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be played at Liberty Park on Bronson Way North. The girls are set to host Tyee at 4 p.m. Monday, April 3 at Renton High School.
LINDBERGH EAGLES
The Eagles baseball team has two games under its belt and currently have a 0-2 league and overall record.
The first two games of the season were a 10-0 loss to Franklin Pierce and a 14-5 loss to White River.
Next up was a game against Fife on Thursday, played after the press deadline. Following that game is a 4 p.m. home game Tuesday, April 4 against Foss.
The girls are currently 0-1 in league and 1-2 overall. The Eagles only win of the season so far was a 31-1 win over Renton. The Eagles started the season with a close 7-5 loss to Hazen and another close 13-12 loss to Franklin Pierce on Thursday.
Next up is an away game scheduled for 4 p.m. today, Friday, March 31 at White River.
LIBERTY PATRIOTS
The Liberty baseball team is currently No. 1 in the KingCo 2A/3A league with a 1-0 league record and a 3-2 overall record.
The Patriots started the season with a 11-1 over Hazen on March 14. After a three game winning streak, the boys lost 11-1 to Skyline March 23 and then fell to Auburn Mountainview 4-3 on March 27.
The Patriots are set to host Redmond at 4:30 p.m. today, Friday, March 31.
The girls have opened the 2016-2017 season with a five game losing streak. The latest loss came Monday — 26-1 to Lake Washington. Fastpitch is scheduled to travel to Interlake today for a 4:30 p.m. start time.
HAZEN HIGHLANDERS
Hazen baseball is seven games into the season and hold a 1-6 overall record.
The boys only win came March 18 against Eisenhower. Hazen won that matchup 16-1. The boys are set to travel to Kentridge today for a 4 p.m. game.
The fastpitch team is currently in the No. 1 spot of the North Puget Sound League 4A Cascade division. The girls are 1-2 overall to start the season. The girls are on a two game losing streak. Fastpitch is set to play Mount Rainier at 4 p.m. today.
