Two projects in the Renton area will receive funding from the Metropolitan King County Council. The council approved more than $147,000 on June 26.

“Improving local water quality is good for both residents and the local environment,” said Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn, who represents part of the city of Renton and May Valley. “I am especially glad these funds are going toward improving issues around May Creek that I know impact area residents.”

The city of Renton will receive $70,000 to retrofit a city-owned facility in the Heather Downs development, a release stated.

Another project just outside Renton will receive more than $77,000 to pilot the design retrofit of May Creek tributary 291 A that discharges into May Creek.
