Danette Baker Seeto died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in her Renton, WA home after an extremely hard and long fight with cancer, and was returned to her “spiritual home” of Oak Harbor, WA for burial. This obituary was postponed due to family needs.
She was born as Danette Michelle Baker on September 13, 1966 in Oak Harbor in the Navy Hospital (now a college campus) on Whidbey Island, the daughter of Daniel Baker and the late Joan Kampf Baker.
She spent most of her youth years in Oak Harbor schools and on the 5 acres she loved. She had several jobs involving care, teaching, or protecting children in the Renton, Auburn, and Edmonds areas.
In 2013 she married Edward Seeto, originally of Fiji, and brightened his life.
A unique soul, she had a kind and engaging heart with friends and was remarkable in how she researched and reached out to her parental and husband’s extended families. She loved children, pets, and knew all bird sounds. Her cheery voice and feisty ways will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother who died in a tragic fire in Bremerton in 1993. She is survived by her devoted husband Edward Seeto (married 2013), her father, son Christopher Jensen, brother Jeff Baker of Belfair, and sisters Terry Frary of Florida and Susan Frary Jones of Alabama.
A belated memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 816 Field Ave. N.E., Renton, WA from 12-4 pm on the 11th of November 2017. The family requests an RSVP to Edward at 206-496-9224.
