Suspicious Substance Investigated at Police Station

The following is a press release from the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

The Hazardous Materials Response Team from Puget Sound Fire was dispatched at 9:50 p.m. on Nov. 23 to SeaTac City Hall after a King County Sheriff’s deputy was exposed to an unknown substance while analyzing it at the police station.

The substance was obtained during a traffic stop.

The officer was treated at the scene by King County Medic One and firefighters before being transported to a local hospital as a precaution. No one else was exposed.

Using a police test kit, the Haz Mat team determined that the substance was cocaine. The material will be further tested to determine if it was tainted with anything else.
