Renton Regional Fire Authority responded to reports of a fire around 2 p.m. today, Jan. 24 near Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park.

RRFA was dispatched to the 1000 block of Lake Washington Boulevard where a furniture truck caught on fire. The truck was parked between The Bristol at Southport apartments and the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington.

There was reportedly smell of smoke in both buildings. However firefighters determined there was no smoke or damage to either building. People were not evacuated from the Bristol and the Hyatt Regency.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire by 2:20 p.m. No one was hurt during the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
