Kelly Lano, a kindergarten teacher at Talbot Hill Elementary, was nominated as a “Smile Maker,” as part of Delta Dental of Washington’s Smile Power tour .

The Delta Dental of Washington’s Smile Power tour, which wrapped up last week, celebrates community members who give back through volunteering, kind acts and other good deeds. Delta Dental surprise them with gifts and charitable donations.

Lano was nominated by Richard McMath, the parent of a former student, for “making such a positive impact on their lives and the lives of so many others,” according to a press release. He noted that “many teach to live while Ms. Lano truly lives to teach.”

She was surprised by the Tooth Fairy and Smile Power team along with her husband, mother and father. She was gifted a spa gift card, a Seahawks jersey for her baby on the way and Smile Power gear.
