Around 8 a.m. Monday officers responded to reports of a vehicle and pedestrian accident near Benson Hill Elementary School at the intersection of Southeast 184th Street and 116th Avenue Southeast.

The accident left one child in critical condition and an adult in serious condition.

When Renton police officers arrived on scene, they found the vehicle had hit two pedestrians while turning the corner at the intersection, a media release stated.

According to the release, initial reports indicate the vehicle stopped at the intersection and then proceeded forward past the intersection to round the corner and then struck the pedestrians.

Renton fire responded to treat and transport the patients to Harborview Medical Center. At the time of the release, the patients remain at the hospital for treatment.
