Information from a Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Press release:

A barn fire Monday morning fully engulfed the structure with seven horses trapped inside.

Renton Regional Fire Authority and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority found the barn fully enguled when arriving. The fire was reported at 7:39 a.m., and firefighters could see the smoke column from a half mile away. The fire occured in Kent, 12900 block of Southeast 203 Place.

According to the press release, firefighters worked defensively, fighting the fire from the outside and not entering due to danger of colapse. Another barn 50 feet away was also protected.

“The property owner informed firefighters that there were no injuries but that the seven horses boarded in the barn had not been able to get out,” the press release states.

Puget Sound Fire Investigator is working with the owner to determine cause of fire.
