A 52-year-old mother reportedly shot and killed her 14-year-old daughter while she called 911 Tuesday night, Dec. 18, in the 4700 block of Smithers Avenue South.

The victim called to report a domestic dispute between her father and mother at 8:13 p.m. The mother confronted the victim while she was on the phone and then shot her.

Police said initial indications are that the mother recently lost custody of the children. The father reportedly came home with the children to find the mother, who was not supposed to be there, inside his house where the shooting took place.

No other family members were seriously injured during this incident and the mother was taken into custody. She has been booked in King County Jail.
