The Hazen Highlanders wrestled seven dual matches last week, going 5-2.
In league action, Hazen competed against Mount Rainier, Kennedy and Tahoma at an North Puget Sound League quad meet.
Hazen defeated Mount Rainier by a score of 72-12, following up with a repeat performance beating Kennedy 72-12. The Highlanders lost to Tahoma 25-33 after posting a 25-9 lead against the Bears.
On Saturday, Hazen hosted their annual Pancreatic Cancer Benefit — Taking Down Pancreatic Cancer Duals — at Highline High School.
The team placed third out of eight teams, going 3-1 on the day.
Hazen beat Highline by a score of 45-18, lost to Decatur 42-27, beat Liberty 68-6 and defeated Bonney Lake by a score of 48-34.
The Highlanders, who were shut out by Bonney Lake at PANCAN two years ago landed an upset win over the Panthers to place third.
In addition to a positive week on the mat, Hazen wrestling was able to raise close to $1,500 to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The team, who is now 8-5 overall, and 3-4 in the NPSL wrestled against Kentlake Jan. 23. Hazen lost the meet 51-24.
