The fourth King County person confirmed with measles was in public locations in Renton before being diagnosed, according to Public Health Seattle and King County.

The King County resident, a woman in her mid-30s, brings the total recent measles count to seven in the state, and four in King County in the last month.

The woman was in Valley Family Medicine Clinic, a clinic operated by Valley Medical Center Family Medicine Residency, located at 3915 Talbot Rd. S., on May 14 and May 15. Potential exposure times were about 10:40 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

She was also at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on May 10, May 11, May 12 and May 13 at the Hudson Alki Bakery Store, which is pre-security by the gate B exit. Potential exposure times were 4 a.m. to around 2 p.m. each of those days.

According to Public Health, anyone at those locations during that time could have been exposed to measles. The times listed include two hours after the person left.

Measles is highly contagious. The disease causes fever, rash, cough and red watery eyes.

Transition of measles can happen before people know they have the disease. Symptoms could appear from seven days after initial exposure up to 21 days after.

Those in the locations around those times listed should find out if they’ve been vaccinated or have had measles before, call a health care provider if they develop an illness with fever and/or unexplained rash and check if they can receive medication or vaccination following exposure.

If more locations are identified they will be added to the list of exposure locations at kingcounty.gov/measles/cases.
