On Friday, June 21, over 200 people joined together at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Renton. The event went through the night, at Renton Memorial Stadium, to help save more lives from cancer.
The Relay for Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
In one example, a Hazen sophomore created a Relay for Life club at her high school this year, and was able to generate the support and attendance of 25 students.
Dollars raised helped the American Cancer Society.
