A motorcycle rider died in Renton after crashing on Maple Valley Highway near Classics Sports Bar.

Maple Valley Highway was shut down from 405 Street to Southeast Fifth Street during the investigation, the Renton Police stated on its Facebook. The investigation is ongoing.

“Unfortunately this motorcycle versus vehicle collision is a fatality,” the Facebook post states. “The male motorcycle driver passed away. The male driver of the vehicle is in custody for vehicular homicide.”

Alcohol was a factor in the collision, the police stated.

“Please, please, please use one of many alternatives to driving impaired,” the police stated.
