Renton bounces back with big win; Hazen wins seventh straight | Boys basketball

It was just a matter of time before things clicked again for the Renton basketball team.

Unfortunately for Evergreen, the Wolverines were the victims of the Indians 42-14 first half run on the way to a 63-41 win Friday.

Renton (4-6 overall, 4-2 Seamount) had lost four games in a row before dominating the first half against Evergreen. It was the worst loss of the season for Evergreen.

Achoki Moikobu led Renton with 13 points. Joseph Powell and Hanley Shum each scored 11. Eleven different players scored for Renton as the game was in hand early.

Hazen 54, Highline 50

The Hazen basketball team continued its winning ways with a 54-50 victory against Highline Friday.

The Highlanders (9-2, 5-2) have now won seven games in a row. They led by nine points heading into the fourth quarter and held off a late Pirate rush.

R.J. Magar led the team with 14 points. Frankie Johnson scored 12.

Foster 60, Lindbergh 56

Lindbergh came close to pulling off an upset, losing 60-56 to Foster Friday night.

The Eagles (1-6, 0-6) were within one point of the league-leading Bulldogs heading into the fourth quarter.

James Keum led Lindbergh with 20 points. Isaiah Williams scored 11.

Liberty 57, Aberdeen 56

Liberty notched its second straight close win, 57-56 over Aberdeen Saturday.

The Patriots (3-8, 0-3 KingCo 3A/2A) came from four points down entering the fourth quarter to win.

Chandler Jenkins scored 14 for Liberty.
