Renton teams made their presence felt at the Westside Classic Oct. 31. Both the Lindbergh boys and girls teams, plus Hazen’s boys team took three of the 16 team spots for state.
The Lindbergh boys finished highest, taking second behind Peninsula. Trevor Thompson led the Eagles with a fifth-place finish. Nate Reitz finished 10th.
The Lindbergh girls finished fifth. It is the first time since 1996 the girls team will travel to state and the first time since 1992 both the boys and girls teams from Lindbergh will go to state the same season.
Sarah Reiter led the team with a ninth-place finish. Anna Patti came in 14th.
The Hazen boys placed sixth. Chris Melrose led the group in 32nd. Nick Teal placed 58th.
Renton’s Saugat Chhetri placed 31st and will advance to state individually.
