Renton police say an unidentified person stabbed a 14-year-old girl on Saturday, June 3 in Renton.
Renton police dispatched at approximately 1:12 a.m. to the area of Shattuck Avenue South and South 3rd Street after receiving a report of the stabbing of a 14-year-old girl.
Upon arrival, officers saw the girl sitting on the sidewalk. She was bleeding heavily from her left wrist and sustained a stab wound to the upper left chest.
Speaking with the girl, she “was unable to provide any information regarding a suspect,” according to the department.
Officers canvassed the area and talked with a potential witness. The witness said one of the local homeless women potentially stabbed the girl.
The Renton Police Department’s investigations team will oversee further investigation of the incident. The department provided no information regarding the updated status of the girl’s injuries, as of June 5.
