Norman Gene Webster passed away on July 6, 2023 in Redding, CA at the age of 93.
Norman is survived by his children, Jeff and Larry; siblings Bill of Renton, Melvina Tanner and Gwen Novak both of Utah. He has 2 grandchildren, Eric of Auckland and Katie of Browns Valley, along with 3 great grandchildren Carter, Josephina, and Magnolia. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Lillie Webster, wife Gladys, brothers Don, Jim, Darrell, Vernon, and David as well as sister Verda.
Norm was born on May 14, 1930 in Caldwell, ID to Leo and Lillie Webster. He attended school in Caldwell, Idaho and Renton and was very proud to have been on the high school club soccer team. He graduated from Renton High in 1948. He married Gladys Brusseau Aug 29, 1952, after meeting her at a dance. Norman served our country in the Naval Reserve as a navigator from 1947-1959. He worked at Craftsmen Press from which he retired after 40 years.
Norm loved hunting and fishing! Upon retirement he and Gladys spent summers at their cabin along the Yakima River in Easton, WA where they could watch elk and deer out their kitchen window and fly fish in the front yard. They wintered in Casa Grande, AZ. Norm also lived many winters with son, Larry, in Casa Grande after Gladys passed. His last few years were spent in Redding, CA near son Jeff.
A memorial will be held on July 27th, 10:30-2:00 at the Maple Valley Community Center. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Norman’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer Association. The family would like to thank Kris Caldwell and Sherry Mundt for their loving care of Norm.
