On July 31, rescue workers responded to a plane crash that occurred at Renton Municipal Airport.
At 9:08 a.m., multiple crews including Renton Regional Fire Authority, Skyway Fire (Fire District #20), Boeing Fire Department and King County Medic One were dispatched to Renton Municipal Airport for report of a small airplane crash, according to Renton Regional Fire Authority spokesperson Sara Morris.
According to a tweet from the Renton Regional Fire Authority, responding crews arrived on scene to find the single engine aircraft turned upside down beside the airstrip.
Morris said responders found two conscious occupants inside of the aircraft. Both patients suffered injuries with one being transported to a local hospital for their injuries and one being treated on scene, but refusing transport.
Boeing Fire Department was reportedly on scene as well, assisting and controlling a fuel leak from the airplane.
“At this time, the scene has been turned over to the Renton Municipal Airport who will now be the lead agency,” Morris said in an email to the Renton Reporter on July 31.
