The Liberty girls team capped off an undefeated 3A KingCo season by finishing second at the KingCo cross-country meet Oct. 21 at Lake Sammamish State Park.

Allie Wood led the Patriots with an eighth-place overall finish in the girls varsity race. Megan Chucka took ninth, Amy Broska finished 10th and Rachel Shaw took 11th. Chucka, Broska and Shaw finished within 1.03 seconds of each other.

Aimee Christensen (12th), Megan Larson (14th) and Michaela Chucka (19th) rounded out the Liberty team.

Tyler Westenbroek led the Liberty boys with a 10th place finish. Scott Turner took 11th.

Nick Knoblich (20th), Alex Velasquez (22nd), Chris Turner (25th), Nicholas Turner (28th) and Riley Mackey (31st) completed the varsity effort.

Liberty moves on to the Sea-King 3A district meet Oct. 28 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle.

The top five teams and 25 individuals at the meet will advance to the 3A state meet Nov. 6 in Pasco.
