No more outsourcing

I’ve been satisfied with my experiences at KCLS, so why am I voting to keep Renton’s Library?

I’m tired of outsourcing everything. It’s our responsibility.

City law-givers don’t want to have to take from fire or police or streets or schools or….? Change our city government to set up separate funding.

Access to KCLS materials? Re-negotiate the borrowing agreements. We have materials their users want. I know – I’m one.

We’ve got valuable resources. Don’t pay someone else to take them off of our hands like rubbish.

In “the Old West,” at least in the movies, they had barn raisings. We can have a “library raising.” We have our own willing library supporters.

Why are we/taxpayers paying for three separate library systems – two of which are off limits to most taxpayers? It’s time to coordinate taxpayer funded resources. It’s time to merge the public school (for young’uns) and the Renton Technical College libraries with the city library. They are all funded with my/our tax dollars.

Partner up with other organizations. There’s a housing development in the planning – expecting to house a library. City of Renton had thoughts of housing a library in City Hall!
