Man dies in single-vehicle crash on Lake Washington Boulevard

A 44-year-old man died as a result of a single-vehicle collision in Renton on Sept. 10.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, 44-year-old Mikiyas Yonas Kebede died in Renton on Sept. 10 as a result of multiple blunt force injuries in a roadway accident.

According to Meeghan Black, a spokesperson for the Renton Police Department, officers responded to Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast and Northeast 48th Street at 6:41 p.m.Sept. 10 for a single-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, officers located the passenger of a truck that had overturned and crashed into a wall sitting next to the truck.

According to Black, the passenger stated a mechanical failure occurred and asked officers to check on the driver.

The Renton Regional Fire Authority pronounced the driver, trapped within the truck, as deceased.

As of Sept. 11, collision investigators continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
