Renton proclamation honors Hispanic Heritage Month

Santa Fe Grill owner Isidro Rojas accepted the proclamation.

At the Renton City Council meeting Sept. 16, Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone delivered a proclamation for Hispanic Heritage Month, bringing up a local restaurateur to accept the proclamation

The council proclaimed Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month. Mayor Pavone’s proclamation said this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month theme is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” which serves as a reminder of the spirit of innovation, resilience and unity that encapsulates the Hispanic experience. Councilmember Ruth Perez then read the proclamation in Spanish.

The owner of Santa Fe Mexican Grill, Isidro Rojas, accepted the proclamation.

“Thank you to the City of Renton for this honor,” Rojas said. “And, I look forward to helping contribute to the growth of our Latino community for years to come. Thank you so much.”
