Clam Lights illuminate Gene Coulon | Photos

The public can enjoy the Clam Lights from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. until Jan. 5.

Let there be light! On Friday, Dec. 6, the City of Renton and Ivar’s kicked off the annual Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park holiday lights — also known as the Ivar’s Clam Lights — with 200,000 lights, photo opportunities with Ivar’s strolling Clam and the Clauses, and so much more.

Kicking off at 5 p.m., families flooded the park to see the lights, enjoy some food, meet Councilmember Ruth Pérez and her husband, Renton Rotary President Al Ralston, as Mrs. Claus and Santa Claus. Families also got to see the Rainier Yacht Club’s “Parade of Boats” and the breathtaking Argosy Christmas Ship. With plenty of photo opportunities and even a singalong at the North Shelter, the park was bustling with holiday spirit.

A Renton tradition, the public can enjoy the Clam Lights from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. until Jan. 5. The park is located at 1201 Lake Washington Boulevard North in Renton.
