A man died after being hit by a vehicle in Renton on Feb. 8.

Renton police officers responded to a report of a car hitting John W. McBride, 44, at the intersection of Southeast Carr Road and 108th Avenue SEat 7:53 p.m. Feb. 8. Police reported the victim died at the scene.

The driver, driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue, was not arrested or charged at the time.

“The preliminary investigation reveals the deceased was attempting to cross the street and was struck,” Renton Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black said. “Collision investigators have not yet ruled on the outcome of their investigation.”

Eastbound on Southeast Carr Road from 106th Avenue SE to 108th Avenue SE were closed for a period of time because of the accident.
